The Tide Of Life - episode synopsis

• Episode 1 - While her father is away at sea, Emily is content with her position with Mr and Mrs McGilby where she is able to look after her sickly sister. But then the death of one of her employers throws her life into turmoil

• Episode 2 - Emily discovers why her employer is so unpopular in the village when his son Con is accused of making a local girl pregnant and rumours abound that her sister has suffered the same fate by him. The family is embroiled in further controversey following a mysterious death, although the tragedy brings hidden benefits for Emily

• Episode 3 - Realising that Birch never really loved her, Emily makes sure that at least he won't forget her
