Anglo-Saxon Attitudes - episode synopsis

Below are the episode synopsis to Anglo-Saxon Attitudes:

  • Episode 1 - A troubled Gerald Middleton recalls his invitation from Gilbert Stokesay to Meipham in 1912, where Gilbert’s father is conducting the dig that reveals the phaffic Meipham Idol, and where Gerald falls in love with Gilbert’s fiancée, Dollie. There the seeds are sown for their voluptuous affair which begins after Gilbert’s death in the trenches and continues after Gerald’s marriage

  • Episode 2 - Inge Middleton is manoeuvring to keep her favourite son John at Marlow with her. When her estranged husband Gerald finds out that John’s lover Larrie is staying with them, he goes to Marlow to try and diffuse the situation. This only succeeds in alienating John, Larrie and Inge

  • Episode 3 - Gerald is invited to Marie soiree. He reluctantly accepts and the event is a disaster. His eldest son, Robin, and his son-in-law Donald argue over a business wrangle, and Robin’s lover Elvira arrives very late and very drunk. Finally, Larrie, the lover of his younger son, John arrives and, after an embarrassing scene for everyone else, the two are reunited and leave in triumph together, planning to escape to France
