The Dwelling Place - episode synopsis

• Episode 1 - While fighting to keep her five young brothers and sisters from the workhouse, Cissie is raped by a drunken young aristocrat and falls pregnant. As she tries to make sense of her turbulent relationships with two very different men, she finds her life irrevocably caught up with that of Lord Fischel

• Episode 2 - Four years have passed when Clive returns unexpectedly from sea to be confronted with the son he never knew he had. A changed man, he is appalled at his father's actions and vows to return the child to Cissie

• Episode 3 - Matthew tells Rose the truth about Isabella's death, but Rose convinces him to remain silent. Cissie and Clive suddenly realise something which has been staring them in the face
