  • Episode 1 - Private Enterprise - When Scotland Yard suspects corruption on the patch of DCI Tony Clark, the ambitious detective finds himself assigned the unenviable task of investigating his own station. His first target is a ring of officers who are taking kickbacks from laundered drug money

  • Episode 2 - Out Of The Game - Years of resentment in a local community flare up into violence when a youth is shot by armed police

  • Episode 3 - Words Of Advice - A complaint of sexual harassment and an accusation of bribery reveal widespread prejudice within the force. Is Tony Clark really the right man to sit in judgement?

  • Episode 4 - Lies And Damned Lies - Tony Clark follows up an allegation of police brutality after an old man claims to have seen a prostitute attacked, but an influential officer obstructs his inquiry. With a whiff of promotion in the air, Clark is determined to get to the facts, whatever the cost

  • Episode 5 - A Watch And Chain Of Course - Maureen Connell needs Tony's help when her cover is blown, but he is caught up in a murder case which has personal as well as professional implications

  • Episode 6 - Lest Ye Be Judged - Tony Clark has to decide who is the real victim when he investigates the conviction of a brutal armed robber. To complicate matters, he becomes involved with a local reporter who is convinced that the rules have been bent

  • Episode 7 - Breaking Point - Tony Clark is drafted to investigate claims of police brutality when a full-scale riot erupts at the picket line, landing one of the protesters in hospital in a coma. Given no help by Commander Neame, he approaches journalist Molly Cope for information and soon begins to suspect a police cover-up

  • Episode 8 - The Only Good Copper - Tony Clark is ordered to investigate complaints against an officer killed in the course of duty. Should PC Norton be allowed to rest in peace, or does his death hide a sinister secret?

  • Episode 9 - Watching The Detectives - Clark accuses Sgt Markham of corruption. Meanwhile his lover, PC Jenny Dean, is under pressure over her part in the Michael Carswell affair

  • Episode 10 - Nothing To Declare - Clark and his team are caught in a tangled web of extortion, drug smuggling and illegal immigration. Jenny Deans finds herself under investigation over the Carswell case

  • Episode 11 - Nothing Personal - When a youth dies in police custody, a question mark hangs over his apparent suicide. As Clark gets closer to the truth, he learns some uncomfortable facts about his girlfriend, Jenny Dean

  • Episode 12 - Nobody's Fireproof - When a senior police officer is arrested with a prostitute, it sparks off a chain of events that could finish some very promising police careers. But for WPC Jenny Dean, the consequences are even more tragic

  • Episode 13 - The Chill Factor - Tony Clark is determined to avenge Jenny Dean's death. He finds that his enquiries lead back to CIB, and he finally confronts an unexpected enemy aboard HMS Belfast
