In the UK only 36 of the 39 episodes of Angelina Ballerina have been aired on TV, plus a Christmas Special. Two of the missing episodes appear on DVD (i.e. Sammy's Club on Lights, Camera, Action! DVD, and Show And Tell on Big Performance DVD). The third, The Anniversary Party has yet to be screened in the UK
As for the Christmas Special, it was called The Show Must Go On, and was originally shown in the USA around Christmas 2002. It was eventually transmitted in the UK on ITV1 on Friday 23rd December 2005, and like most of the episodes, is now available on DVD
In January 2006, a DVD called Princess Dance will be released which proclaims has not been previously shown on TV. It looks like it's a new special, but at this stage I'm not sure!A CD to accompany the series was released in November 2003
The first 26 episodes were shown in the UK on ITV1 in two batches. The first 13 episodes were shown in October 2001, and included:
- Episode 1 - The Rose Fairy Princess - When Angelina wins the lead role in Miss
Lilly's new production of 'The Rose Fairy Princess', she is thrilled - until she discovers that the
finale involves her flying across the stage on a wire
- Episode 2 - Angelina At The Fair - The fair is in town, and Angelina, Alice and
William are looking forward to the scariest rollercoaster in the whole of Mouseland. But Angelina
has to look after Henry when he is too scared to go on the rides
- Episode 3 - Angelina In The Wings - When one of the dancers succumbs to the
mousepox, Madame Zizi needs a ballerina for her production of 'The Sun Queen', and all the students
audition. When Henry gets the part, Angelina tries desperately to impress Madame Zizi so that she
will be in the chorus too
- Episode 4 - The Lucky Penny - Angelina has an important audition and convinces
herself that a 'lucky penny' she has found will bring her success
- Episode 5 - Arthur The Butterfly - Angelina finds an injured butterfly and takes
it home to nurse it better, but when it is well she does not want to let it go. When Henry
accidentally lets the butterfly escape, the pair go on a search
- Episode 6 - The Ballet Tickets - Angelina is desperate to see her ballet heroes
perform at the Theatre Royal, but the Pinkpaws twins get the last tickets
- Episode 7 - Treasure Tandems - There is a treasure hunt in Chipping Cheddar and
all the young mice are hoping to win first prize
- Episode 8 - Miss Lilly Comes To Dinner - When Miss Lilly comes for a meal
Angelina tries to get her mother to impress her with dainty food
- Episode 9 - Midnight Muddle - Angelina and Alice decide to spend a night in a
tent in the garden
- Episode 10 - Angelina's Surprise - Angelina is jealous when her best friend is
distracted by the Pinkpaws' twins' new baby brother, and so invents an elaborate lie to make
herself the centre of attention
- Episode 11 - Two Mice In A Boat - Angelina is paired with Sammy for the
boat-decorating carnival. But trouble brews when they cannot agree on a theme for their project
- Episode 12 - The Costume Ball - Angelina and Alice want to go to the village
costume ball, but they are too young
- Episode 13 - Miss Lilly Is Leaving - After Alice overhears Miss Lilly discussing her forthcoming journey, the class rally round to try and prevent the teacher from leaving
A further 13 episodes were shown on ITV1 during June 2002:
- Episode 14 - Angelina The Mouse Detective - Angelina tries her hand at crime
solving when it becomes apparent that a garden gnome is out on the loose in Chipping Cheddar
- Episode 15 - Alice's Present - Angelina is furious when the Pinkpaws twins try to
sell her new bag at the Chipping Cheddar fete
- Episode 16 - The Cheese Ball Cup - Angelina is concerned that she isn't the
footballer everyone else thinks she is
- Episode 17 - Angelina's Valentine - William makes a Valentine for Angelina, but
is too shy to deliver it. When Sammy volunteers to deliver it he is very relieved, but why is
Sammy being so generous?
- Episode 18 - Angelina And Anya - A travelling mouse called Anya arrives at
Angelina's school, and her classmates become suspicious when the village blackberries disappear
- Episode 19 - The Gift - Angelina makes a beautiful hand-painted Christmas present
for Miss Lilly, but Priscilla and Penelope convince her that their expensive gift is better
- Episode 20 - The Legend Of Big Paw - Angelina and Henry try to track down a war
medal lost in the Black Cat Hills
- Episode 21 - Angelina And Grandma - Angelina's attempts to help her grandmother
prepare a birthday party end in disaster
- Episode 22 - No Match For Angelina - Angelina is devastated to find out that
girls aren't allowed to play in the Ice Hockey League and sets about proving that she more than
deserves a place on the Chipping cheddar team
- Episode 23 - The Ballerina Rag Doll - Angelina decides to give away some of her
old toys, including a rag doll that Grandpa won for her at a fair. But when Grandpa asks after the
doll, Angelina knows that she needs to track it down and retieve it
- Episode 24 - The Gymnastics Championship - Angelina needs to overcome her fears
when she competes in the Mouseland gymnastics final
- Episode 25 - The Royal Banquet - Angelina is meant to be dancing for Queen
Seraphina of Mouseland, but on the way to the palace her train is delayed
- Episode 26 - Angelina's Baby Sister - Angelina has a new baby sister, but her excitement quickly fades when the new arrival gets more attention than she does
10 more episodes were susequently aired in the USA, also around June 2002, eventually hitting UK shores in October 2003 on Nick Junior:
- Episode 27 - The Proposal - Convinced that Miss Lilly is being courted by a
secret admirer, Angelina daydreams about being head bridesmaid. But when the mystery suitor's
identity is revealed, all she wants to do is keep the couple apart
- Episode 28 - William The Conjuror - William succeeds in making Angelina disappear
while practicing his magic act - but can he bring her back again?
- Episode 29 - The Old Oak Tree - The kids team up with Mrs Hodgepodge to try to
save the town's beloved oak tree
- Episode 30 - Lights, Camera, Action - Angelina and her friends decide to make a
movie, but Angelina's diva attitude threatens to derail the project
- Episode 31 - Ace Reporter - Angelina decides to spend her summer helping her
father at the Mouseland Gazette, but everything she tries goes wrong - until she manages to
get the scoop of a lifetime entirely by chance
- Episode 32 - Heads And Tails - The head of the new statue of Queen Seraphina goes
missing. Believing Henry is responsible, Angelina tries to help him make a new one in time for the
unveiling
- Episode 33 - Angelina And The Silver Locket - Angelina borrows her mother's
precious locket without permission, confident that she can return it before her mother finds out.
Then she loses it
- Episode 34 - Mouse Of The Year - When Miss Lilly wins the Mouse of the Year award,
Angelina is delighted - until she realizes how time-consuming Miss Lilly's new role will be
- Episode 35 - Henry's Halloween - Angelina and Alice make fun of Henry when he
says he has seen the legendary Chipping Cheddar witch - until they see her too
- Episode 36 - Anya's Visit - As her visiting friend Anya becomes more and more popular around the village, Angelina's initial excitement at seeing her friend turns to jealousy
... the three 'missing' episodes:
- Episode 37 - Sammy's Club - Sammy and his friends have built a downhill racer,
and taunt William about how he can't join in the fun as he's not a member of their club. Sammy
changes his mind, however, when the racer falls apart
- Episode 38 - Show And Tell - Angelina decides to bring her little sister, Polly,
for 'show and tell' day at her school. But looking after a baby is not easy as a rather frayed
Angelina discovers
- Episode 39 - The Anniversary Party - Angelina is to perform as Cupid at a ballet show on her grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary. But it looks as if the show may be cancelled when a tearful Grandma thinks that Grandpa has forgotten their anniversary
... and the Specials:
- The Show Must Go On - It is Christmas Time in Mouseland, and the annual play
Cinderella And The Ugly Whiskers is in town. It is directed by the famous Ivor Operatski,
but he is very tough on the mouslings. Angelina yearns to be cast as Cinderella, but is instead
cast as the Wicked Stepmouse because she can't sing. When she storms of the set, Miss Lilly takes
over. But a freak tobaggon accident causes her to break her foot and put the play in Jeopardy. Can
Angelina save the day?
- Princess Dance - Angelina cannot believe her luck when Queen Seraphina requests a special mouselings ballet at the palace. Alice is to do the costumes, Sammy the special effects and Angelina is to direct! Angelina chooses Sleeping Beauty, the most royal ballet of all. When the Queen requests that parts are found for Valentine and Sophie, her two eldest daughters, Angelina immediately gives them starring roles - they are princesses after all! Angelina quickly realises that Valentine and Sophie are terrible dancers and are outrageously demanding too. Things are soon out of control and the show seems doomed! Will Angelina get to the bottom of the princesses' behaviour and get the show back on track?
